George Lyon, top Liberal Democrat Euro candidate, has cast his vote for
the European elections at his local polling station in Port Bannatyne,
Rothesay.
Mr. Lyon is hoping to replace Elspeth Attwooll as Scotland's Liberal
Democrat MEP. Mrs. Attwooll is stepping down as an MEP after 10 years.
Commenting after casting his ballot, Mr. Lyon said:
"Liberal Democrats are in confident mood. The Labour party is in freefall, drifting from one crisis to the next.
"Turn out looks like it will be higher than usual for European elections,
a reflection of the public's dissatisfaction with the status quo.
"The same old politics is simply not good enough. Liberal Democrats will
rebuild politics from top to bottom and bring about the change that the
country is crying out for."
